So anyone who's wondering what Braindead have been up to recently... not much!
We were honored to have played the 25th and 30th anniversary of Rote Flora (Hamburg) and Onderbroek (Nijmegen) respectively, celebrating two of the oldest and most active autonomous centers in Europe. The Rote Flora is where we got in touch with Dub Reggae back in the days, as described in the song "City Of Transgression", as well as having seen some of the best HC/Punk bands around (I'll never forget F-Minus in 2004). Closing the night of the 25th anniversary of this occupied theatre in a chaotic mess of a gig was a dazzling experience! As for the Onderbroek, we first played there in early 2004 and came back time and again, developing lasting friendships with several people from the Nijmegen scene (you know who you are!). See you again in 5, 10, 20 years from now!
That being said, the squatted social center De Vloek in Den Haag is facing eviction in early January. If you are living near there, please go to the demonstration on the 06th of December and fight for autonomous spaces!!!
Some gigs are planned till the end of the year before we'll start working on new projects. Last gigs for this year are:
13.12. Bremen - Sielwallhaus - Operation Ivy cover Set feat. Zeki Min
28.12. Bitterfeld - AKW
